SISTER MAIL: Some Good News To Share

The traditional marriage and family have become so alien to modern society that it is now viewed as a counter-cultural lifestyle.

While I have received messages from Catholic women and men criticising my ideologies, I have also received tons of encouraging messages from men and women, and also from traditional catholic families who attest that having a traditional, Biblical marriage and family CAN be done…..even in today’s society, and even if the husband as the main breadwinner of the family is on a low income.Β

I was particularly happy to receive this message below sent to me by one of my female subscribers.

I am sharing it to encourage & inspire you, and to invite you to pray for this lady as she embarks on this wonderful, new chapter in her life!

Thank you for your page.Β
I thought I would share some good news. 😊 My fiance and I just got engaged.
He proposed to me by leading me into the Church late at night and praying a rosary with me then lighting a candle infront of the Blessed Mother. Instead of a ring he had a golden Sacred Heart medal. It was the most romantic and beautiful propsal I could have ever dreamed of.Β
We have been saving ourselves, even our first kiss, for each other and though it has had its rocky questionable up and down moments we have also experienced the many blessings that this brings.Β
It has not been easy but I can attest it has been well worth it.Β
He is working in a stable job (just got another promotion too 😊 ) and plans to provide for me while allowing me to stay home and nurture and teach our children. His mother has taught me how to cook, garden, clean, finance and many other things that will allow me to provide a warm and welcoming home environment.
An environment that I pray will allow our family to comfortably grow into the people God wills us to be. I grew up in a secular home.Β
When I was younger all of my siblings lived with their boyfriends under my parents roof in the rooms next to mine. There was alot of physical and emotional abuse in our home as well.Β
God blessed me with faith at a young age and the battle between the world and what is right ate at me constantly.Β
My fiance has faced the same battles but stayed true to me before we even met. Often times his strength doubles as my strength. His masculinity leaves room for my feminity and we are able to balance each other in what I often see as a beautiful dance.
Β A wonderfully frustratingly , passionate, simple sometimes difficult, fun, exhilarating, romantic dance that will lead us into the arms of our true love Jesus Christ.Β
It is pages like yours that give me those extra boosts when I need encouragement so thank you again. And God bless 😊

Healthy, happy and Holy Catholic marriages/families don’t just happen. They are built from healthy, holy foundations and I am so happy for this lady that she is starting her marriage on the right foot.

As it happens, today is the feast day of the beheading of St John the Baptist, who was martyred for defending God’s original plan for traditional marriage. Β What a wonderful, grace-filled coincidence!
