Hair ribbons have been a part of female attire for centuries and for good reason too!

This timeless and ageless hair accessory is not just for little girls, as it can be worn by women of all ages, even if your hair is more salt than pepper.

There is just something about a hair ribbon that adds a touch of elegance, youth, timelessness and of course, femininity to a woman’s look.

It can be dressed up for glamorous nights out and dressed down for days when you are simply lounging around the house.

Nothing is more soothing to a man’s eyes than for him to return home after a gruelling day at work and find his wife with her hair, perhaps a little messy, but held in a ribbon, instead of an unsightly scrunchie.

That little touch of femininity and youthful charm, regardless of her age or what she might be wearing, endears him to her and fills his heart with the tenderest of love.

Give it a try.ย  For a few days, wear a scrunchie in your hair or leave your hair loose for when your husband returns home from work.ย  And then wear a ribbon.ย  You will notice the difference is his behaviour towards you.

The hair ribbon is so versatile that it can be worn in multiple ways and on any hair length or hair texture.

From short to long, curly to straight, age 5 to 50 and beyond, the hair ribbon is altogether feminine without being too cute-sy, and portrays feminine elegance and sweetness in a timeless, ageless way.

Mary, model of perfect femininity and womanhood, pray for us!

  1. Dear Paige,

Thank you for such a lovely and affirming article. Ribbons are definitely not just for young girls, but add a touch of tradition and femininity to any hairstyle at any age. They were part of our school uniform right up to 18 and we had a sense of pride in how we wore them (not that we would have been allowed out with incorrectly tied ribbons). I still like to wear them now especially if I opt for a chapel cap instead of my more usual veil.

I wonder how many of your readers also wear them, and also what other traditional accessories may have been thrown aside in the name of modernity?

Thank you again for your wonderful blog

    Sincerely

    Charlotte

    1. My pleasure, Charlotte!

      Thank you so much sharing.

I am honoured that you like my blog.

You’d be surprised at how many of my readers do wear ribbons or have started wearing them! From the messages I receive and what some share in the private TCF group, quite a few of my female readers (of diverse ages) wear them and are pleasantly surprised by the effect that ribbons have on their own self-awareness and on their friends, loved ones and family around them.

One of them even told me that wearing ribbons is making a huge comeback in Australia too!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and God bless!

      1. Dear Paige

Happy Mothering Sunday. Thank you so much for replying so quickly.

May I ask what the private TCF group is? I am so glad that this is making a comeback. I would be interested to know more about the effect people think ribbons have on their own self-awareness. This is such an interesting area for discussion. I would be happy to delve further into this.

        God Bless you too!

        Sincerely

        Charlotte
