A lot of people tell me how much they love many of the outfits worn by members of the British Royal Family, in particular, outfits worn by HRH, Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge aka Kate Middleton.
I am not surprised that many people love her style, as she has a personal style that is altogether classic, elegant, feminine and also timeless.
Pulling off such a feat in today’s modern society is no easy task, but Catherine manages it quite well.
Most of her outfits are not only feminine, elegant and classic, but they are also timeless ie you can envision the outfits being worn decades ago and even decades in the future, as they are worn today.
Fashion does come and go, but style is timeless and the girl has style!
However, you do not need the budget of a Duchess in order recreate some of Catherine’s looks and I will demonstrate it in this article.
Today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate Middleton, hosted a Christmas party at Kensington Palace for the families and children of personnel from the Royal Air Force, currently deployed in Cyprus.
Below is the outfit that she wore for the event.
This is a look that would age very well, years from now, and is flattering on all body shapes and sizes.
And, as we are now in Advent and the month of December, the look is very festive too.
RECREATE THE LOOK
Obviously, the first skirt on the left is much closer to the skirt that Catherine is wearing, but there is no reason why you can’t wear any of the other styles shown below instead.
Don’t forget that you can also layer a black slim fit, long-sleeved tee under the cardigan, for extra warmth, without looking too bulky. Not warm enough? Add a cami top under the tee.
With the colder temperatures come the risk of snow or ice, so it’s best to swap a kitten, high or stiletto-heel boots for boots with block, wedge or even flat heels.
This look is such a wearable look that will give you a lot of wear, from church to family events, dates and even low-key festive events. It works really well for daytime events and outings.
And of course, it is very modest too!
Make the look more festive with pretty, sparkly or diamante earrings and wrist-wear.
