St Cecilia is the patron saint of pianists, organists, singers, instrumentalists, music and all musicians. She was martyred for refusing to partake in idol worship and is remembered in the Canon of the Mass.  St. Cecelia is known for “singing in her heart to the Lord” upon her wedding day, despite her consecration to God. She is the patron Saint of musicians and poets because of this sentiment and her alleged singing within the oven during her martyrdom. May her devotion and joy inspire us to lift our hearts in praise and find God’s presence in the beauty of music.
