Why You Should Never Call A Man Your Boyfriend

When to start calling him boyfriend, can I call him my boyfriend, how long until you can call him your boyfriend, calling him boyfriend, calling him boyfriend meaning, traditional courtship, traditional courtship practices, traditional dating, traditional dating values, traditional dating rules, traditional relationship, traditional relationship rules, catholic relationship, catholic relationship advice, traditional catholic dating rules, dating advice, dating advice for women, relationship advice relationship advice for women,

In this video, when I say ring, I mean an actual engagement ring, not a stupid little promise ring. We are not in kindergarten. Promise rings are what men give when they want you to think that they are committing to you, just to lock out the other options of other men approaching you, without actually committing to you.  You should feel insulted by a man giving you a promise ring – it means that he is not taking you or the relationship seriously.

He just wants you to think it is serious cos he knows that silly little girls get overly excited over any ring, even if it is not an engagement ring.

  1. I grew up in a majority protestant area. I never got promise rings or purity rings.

Engagement was something that you did and took serious. It used to be a time to get your certain parts of your life together before you get married.

Promise rings were a way for a certain company to sell cheap jewelry to young women, while they felt good about consumerism and play acting relationships.

(Purity rings were a thing where I lived that was a blip on the radar socially. It was more play acting, instead of having structure and practice).

When you had said “boyfriend”, I often ask people: Shouldn’t we be moving on with our lives?

I do believe that we should be doing things in our lives with purpose. This includes relationships.
