This is a brief guide on the proper way to receive Holy Communion, as per Church teaching and Catholic Tradition.
Communion on the Tongue is the only way allowed for the communicants to receive our Lord.
No one is allowed to hold the Sacred Host, except the priest whose hands have been consecrated to handle the Host.
Any other form of discipline is sacrilegious.
Communicant should be in the State of Grace, which is to say free from mortal sin, should he receive Communion.
A communicant is also advised under the strictest measure:ย
ย To kneel as he or she receives the Sacred Host
For women to wear the veil while inside the church premises.
See VEILS FOR MASS and alsoย REASONS TO VEIL
For men to be dressed modestly and for women to wear their dresses, knee-length; pants for women are to be avoided.
Also, see DRESS CODE FOR MASS
To always respect the Lord, present in the Tabernacle, and to genuflect while crossing an aisle where the Tabernacle is placed.
See, MEANING OF THE MASS
